LaVerl Daily has been one of
the most prominent members of the Houston cooking community for three
decades. LaVerl was instrumental in launching the careers of some of
Houston's best known chefs and cooking teachers. After 25 years as the
founder and owner of the Le Panier cooking school, LaVerl decided to close
the school in 2005 to devote more time to her grandchildren and her
Ikebana school (Japanese flower
arranging). In December 2007, LaVerl was awarded the Order of the
Rising Sun, the second-highest award from the government of Japan.
